About Us

The Society for Human Advancement and Disadvantaged Empowerment (SHADE) is a Non-government, not-for-profit organization. It is registered with the Social Welfare Department of the Government of Balochistan under the Social Welfare Act 1961. The organization was established on January 05, 2003, however, it got formally registered on December 29, 2004, under registration No. 12/04/CD. The Society for Human Advancement and Disadvantaged Empowerment (SHADE) has its well-established office at Usta Muhammad City in District Jaffarabad of Balochistan province in Pakistan. The organization has a professional team of core staff members, a committed team of volunteers, and competent project staff members that vary project-wise. The Society for Human Advancement and Disadvantaged Empowerment (SHADE) is run by a Board of Directors that is a policy-making body of the organization. The Board of Directors consists of 11 members where women and girls have more than 80% participation with a woman as its Chairperson. The members of the Board of Directors are elected after every five years on Tuesday of the last week of December. The organization has worked on a number of projects in collaboration with national, international, and government organizations at its focused areas of district Jaffarabad, district Naseerabad, District Jhal Magsi, district Bolan and district Kachi of Balochistan province. The Society for Human Advancement and Disadvantaged Empowerment (SHADE) is a member of many national and international organizations and networks that work for the promotion of human advancement, women, and human rights.

An equitable society where women and girls have equal access to their rights.

MISSION

To provide awareness, advocacy, and legal assistance to women and girls, enabling them to influence their rights with dignity as enshrined in national and international instruments.

PROGRAMS

  • Social, political and economic empowerment of women
  • Promotion and successful implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in general and goals 5 and 13 in particular.
